Install the new concrete septic tank using a crane truck due to its significant weight (a 1,000-gallon tank can weigh several tons). The tank must be carefully lowered into the excavated hole. Once the tank is settled, install green corrugated plastic risers onto the access openings of the tank. These risers provide an accessible pathway to the tank for future pumping and maintenance, especially useful when the tank is buried deep underground. Apply sealant around the base of the risers to ensure a watertight seal before fitting the lids.

Why can't I receive DIY guidance or FAQs for septic system installation?

Septic system installation is classified under the life-safety-defeat risk category. This is due to significant risks including potential trench collapse during excavation, which can cause immediate death or serious injury, and the severe public health and environmental hazards associated with improper waste disposal, such as groundwater contamination. For your safety, public health, and compliance with local regulations, this project requires the expertise and licensure of a qualified professional. Please consult with licensed professionals and local authorities.
