Step 1 · Select and Prepare Paint Sprayer

Select the appropriate paint sprayer for the type of paint and surface you are working with. Airless sprayers are best for large areas, HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) sprayers are good for finer finishes and smaller projects, and compressed air sprayers require an air compressor. Assemble the sprayer, making sure all connections are secure and that the intake tube, spray gun, and nozzle are clean. Prime the pump if required by the manufacturer's instructions.
